Holds a degree in Sociology. He started his career working in several international consulting companies as a strategic, financial and business consultant. He was appointed Chairman of Banca Popolare di Milano S.p.A., where he was in charge of the banking and financial branch, Centrobanca S.p.A., Selma Bipiemme Leasing S.p.A. (Mediobanca Group). He also held managerial positions in turnaround companies such as Italfondiario S.p.A. and Euromercato S.p.A. At the moment he is a member of the Board of Directors of Centrale Attività Finanziarie S.p.A., an investment company operating also as a partner of specialized dealers, Equita SIM S.p.A., TAS S.p.A., a financial trading company listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, as well as Acea S.p.A., a company operating  in energy, water and environment services, quoted on the Milan Stock Exchange.

Since 2006 ha was lecturer in Economics and business administration at the University of Milano/Bicocca.

Holds a degree in Economics and Banking from the University in Siena. He started his career in 1994 as fiscal and business consultant in different associated firms. From 2001 to March 2005 he was appointed Financial and Accounting Manager in Haworth S.p.A., a leading company in the office furniture market. In April 2005 he joined Gruppo Pro S.p.A. as Financial and Accounting Manager, an IT company developing software for the management of companies and their networks. In June 2007 he was appointed Corporate Executive Officer for Financial Statements in K.R.Energy S.p.A., a company quoted on the Milan Stock Exchange, operating in the renewable power market.
